Outdoor Spaces

New! Large Playground

A large new playground was built in the fall of 2024. The commercial structures include seven climbing apparatuses, four slides, a house and a car for pretend play, and an alligator balance beam. The ground surface is seamless poured-in-place rubber, providing the highest quality safe surface for running and playing.

Nature Playground

Children also experience the wonder of nature throughout the school year on our nature playground. With an outdoor classroom, a gaga ball pit, climbing logs, a balance beam, a musical instrument and two play kitchens under large oak trees, this space inspires creativity and connection with the natural world.

Tiny Tot Garden

Right outside our classrooms are spacious grassy areas, a variety of trees, gardens, a courtyard and a small fish pond. Students tend to our Tiny Tot garden by planting, watering, and harvesting pumpkins, strawberries, and a variety of flowers. Classes visit the fish pond and take turns feeding the fish in the spring. We are blessed by the beautiful campus at Bel Air United Methodist Church.

Events Guest Speakers

Field Trips

Each class goes on 3-5 educational field trips during the school year. Children are accompanied by a parent or guardian. The trip locations are selected because they offer hands-on unique experiences to enhance the curriculum. Some of trips we have taken include Susquehanna Orchards, Jones Farm, Lohr’s Orchard, The Discovery Center, Anita C. Leight Estuary Center, Ladew Gardens, Three Oaks Farm, Herr’s Snack Factory and Eden Mill Nature Center. Field trips are always a fun way for families to enjoy learning together in a new setting!

Family Events

Tiny Tot families are encouraged to participate in special events during the school year. We have family outings at local playgrounds, indoor playrooms, and family friendly eateries. Tiny Tot children honor their parents during our Donuts with Dudes and Mother’s Day celebrations. In the spring we host an Art Show & Ice Cream Social displaying artwork throughout the building created by Tiny Tots. It is a magical evening for the artists and a memorable event for everyone!

Special Guests

Professionals are invited to educate and entertain our Tiny Tots. We enjoy visits from wildlife educators and animals, scientists, firefighters, police officers, and more.

Class Programs

Throughout the year each class performs songs and fingerplays in programs for parents. Holidays, such as Halloween and Christmas, and the end of the school year are special celebrations at Tiny Tot School.
